Questions for Friday, July 29th:

 

1. Vow renewal ceremonies-yay or nay?

Yay! I'd love to renew our vows. This is the 2nd time round for both Scott and myself and we had a very simply, very cheap, justice of the peace, in the backyard wedding. I'd love to be able to renew our vows and have a big fun party! :D

2. What sound/s annoy you the most?

Honestly right now it would have to be the incessant whining of Master Q, he's been bad lately and it's driving me nuts! Otherwise, I don't think any specific sound, just those that could be controlled/stopped but someone or something is not stopping them. lol

3. If you had to pick, would you have only all boys, or only all girls for kids?

I guess since I have a son and 2 step-sons maybe I would choose girls lol just to see the difference.

4. Do you believe in alternative medicine?

I believe that the mind is a very powerful thing, and that some alternative remedies do work if you truly want them to.

5. Would you take a family member's children and raise them if they needed it?

My instinct is to say yes of course. But when thinking about it a bit more, I kinda also think it might depend on the situation. But I think most likely yes I would with out question.

Questions for Friday, June 24th: 

1. If you had the opportunity to bungee jump, would you?

I think I would, at least I say I would right now with my feet firmly planted on the ground. Not sure how I'd react once up there and ready to actually jump though?!

2. Would you rather go to the movie theater or to the drive-in?

I'd love to go to a drive-in, I've never been and I think it would be kinda romantic.

3. Do you have your groceries delivered?

Nope go get them all on our own

4. Eyebrows: Do you wax, thread, pluck, or stay au naturel?

I have waxed, but not regularly. I'm lucky my hair is fair and doesn't show up too much.

5. Would the people you went to high school with be surprised by your life today?

Probably not, I don't really know lol I wasn't too close with too many in High School, at least not at HS, I had older friends mostly.

Questions for Friday, June 24th: 

1. What is your current favorite tv show?

Right now I'm really into watching In Plain Sight, love Mary McCormick & the wittiness of her character! I also like Covert Affairs

2. What's the worst haircut you ever got?

A total boy cut, I see the pictures of it now (and thankfully can't find any to post) and I just think WTH was my mom thinking?!

3. What was something that you did as a child that you thought you were so cool for doing?

That would be wearing leg warmers, jelly shoes and slap bracelets

4. Do you have any GREAT frugal family fun tips?

Doing crafts from reusable materials is always fun. Interesting to see what you can come up with.

5. Would you drive across country if you had the money to fly?

Yes, I would prefer to see everything along the way as long as I also had the time to do so! :)

1. What is your favorite summer time activity?

Chilling outside with the family on a nice summer day, not too hot, just right. 

2. Do you have one laundry soap you stick to, or do you buy whatever's on sale?

I get whats on sale usually

3. What is your favorite dinner to make in the summer?

GRILLING!!!

4. Do you have any talents?

Not really, I'm a quick learner and like to teach myself all sorts of things. I say I'm a 'Jane of all trades, master of none' lol

5. If you could instantly be an expert in something, what would it be? Why?

Photography, I have this life long passion for photography and would simply love to be an amazing photographer

Questions for Friday, June 10th:

1. How close to your childhood dreams is your life now?

Childhood dreams? Wow, nope not very close. I wanted to be a teacher, I've got an Associates Degree in Chemical Dependency and work in a Residential Facility for Chemically Dependent teens. So maybe kinda close. lol

2. What is one must have item for the summer?

Capris, a comfy tshirt and sandals. Nicely painted toes are a must too ;)

3. Do you have your kids stay up on school stuff during summer vacation? (Or, if you don't have kiddos, did your parents make you keep up on school stuff during summer?)

I read during the summers a bit, not much. My parents never made me keep up on it. My son is not in school yet but we are always teaching him new things as he is 4. The older 2 stepboys I try to encourage to read as much as they will during the summer months. 

4. Do you can or freeze fresh produce?

Nope, my mom always did but I've got a rather blackish thumb lol

5. Do you get ready for the day first thing in the morning?

Depends on the 'morning' if it's my morning (evening) getting up for work then yes. On my days off it depends on what we have going on.

Whoa it's been awhile since I've done these! I really need to get better at the blogging thing! ;)

Questions for Friday, June 3rd: 

1. If you had to choose, how would you prefer to choose to spend money...on landscaping or a pool? 

 

I'd have to say pool, with 3 kids during the summer it would hopefully get the out of the house much more than they do now. Darn computers, video games and TV's! 

2. (Scott likes to get things stirred up...) Death penalty, yay or nay?

 

Ugh, I'm not comfortable with this question, I could go either way. I firmly believe that those people who hurt others deserve to be punished. But I also believe the people can change, but on that note I do not believe that some have any chance of changing. It's all so confusing really, it doesn't even make sense to me most the time.

3. What's the worst thing your kid has gotten into when you turned your back/blogged/showered/blinked?

 

A bottle of lotion. lol Seriously, I was actually at work and DH was on baby duty, I think Master Q was maybe 2 1/2. Well they were asleep (Q sleeps with daddy when I'm at work most nights) well Q woke up during the night, daddy was still sleeping and Q took it upon himself to get a hold of one of my bottles of lotion and 'play'. Daddy finally woke up to find Q sitting in bed covered in lotion along with everything around him! lol I laugh b/c I wasn't there....its still a rather sore subject for daddy though ;)

4. How often do you REALLY go to the dentist?

 

Up until 2yrs ago I hadn't been for like 15yrs! lol The past couple years I've been like 3 times I think. 

5. What is your favorite animal (doesn't have to be a pet-type animal)?

Bears, especially koalas and panda, just too cute!

Five Question Friday!

Happy New Years Eve!!!

1. How long does your Christmas tree stay up?

Always til after the first of the new year, then it all depends on when we have time to get it taken down. 

2. Do you have plans for New Year's Eve?

Sure do, working! We have to sign up for at least 2 holiday shifts and mine are almost always the overnight into Thanksgiving and New Years Eve, plus its my weekend to work anyway so why mess with it! Plus DH has to work as well so not like I'm missing out on us going 'out'. :)

3. Do you have any New Year's resolutions?

Yes the same ones I have every year in hopes that some year will be the year they actually happen ;) Loose weight, organization, clean out the junk and spend more time with the family. 

4. How did you spend New Year's Eve when you were younger?

I remember always watching the ball drop on TV. 

5. What was the best way you've ever spent New Year's Eve?

Cuddled up with DH, that is always nice! We've gone out in the past to bars but they are always so overcrowded and just too noisy. Geez I think I must be getting old!!! :p Plus we live in South Dakota, its always COLD on New Years here! So cuddled up nice and warm is a good thing! lol

Five Question Friday

Sorry I haven't been around much as of late, been busy and just in an off kind of mood. I'm working on making some changes in my life and one of them is to keep with my blogging, esp. since I rarely even journal anymore, something I used to do faithfully. Honestly I don't think I have since my father passed in July 09, many things have not been the same since then, even our Holidays this year are nothing like they normally would be, at least not decoration wise, none of us seemed 'in the mood' to do much so we did some for Quinn and left it at that. I hope 2011 brings us all a much happier year. 

Ok onto 5 Question Friday....

1. Do you regift...and if so, do you have a regifting horror story?

I don't think I have actually, I have a couple things now that I might end up re-gifting next year! lol 

2. Do you know what you are getting for Christmas this year?

Yes a couple of things I do know, but a few that I don't. Hubby isn't the best at finding things to get for me so I usually have to point them out or go get it myself! lol 

3. Who brings the most gifts in your family, you or Santa?

I do, Santa brings a few, usually one big and a few smaller things and stocking stuffers. There is no way that I'm standing in line for 3hrs freezing the day after Thanksgiving and letting Santa get credit for it!!! (this year at least lol)

4. What store do you love to by jeans from?

I love Old Navy jeans as of late, I'm so hard to buy jeans for, being a big girl its very hard to find the right fit anywhere. 

5. Christmas meal: Big, All Out Meal or Snacks and Apps?

My mothers birthday is Christmas Day so the past few years we've been doing our big meal Christmas Eve and then snacks and easy stuff on Christmas Day. We've always opened gifts Christmas Eve, this year that may change since hubby may have to work, we don't know yet though. If he does, we'll still do our big meal and each open 1 gift then save the rest for Christmas Morning, which will be totally new for me!

Hard to believe Halloween is almost here! Where has the Fall gone to? Where did the summer go? OMG It's almost 2011!!! Whoa!

We are planning a pumpkin carving extravaganza for tonight or tomorrow. We've got pumpkins for all the kids and of course the adults to carve! ;) Along with some small ones to paint if we still feel that excited about it when the time comes! lol Planning on doing the Trick Or Treating thing on Sunday with the boys, not sure yet if they will be staying with us for it or going back to their moms, all I do know is that I'm not stopping T'r'Ting just to take them home and take away from my son! I look forward to going though, Scott (DH) is dressing as a Zombie Hunter and I think the boys might be Zombies, I am thinking of maybe doing that too but not sure, otherwise I have lil devil horns to wear hehehe.

1. If you could be a fly on any wall, which would you choose?

At this point I think I would choose the boys room when we have the older boys. Sometimes I seriously wonder what goes on in their heads and maybe that would help? Maybe not! lol

2. Do you budget your Christmas shopping or just get it done without budgeting?

We always say we need to budget it but then end up just getting it done.

3. What is the craziest fad diet you have ever done?

I've been a big girl all my life and I've been on alot of them all with little to no success. I'm finally getting to the age in life where I'm realizing, with a fight, that I just can't eat the crap I have up til now. Sad lol

4. Is there a TV show that you have seen every episode/season of?

Angel, LOVE David Boreanaz! I also LOVE Bones, but haven't seen all the episodes there yet. The only reason I have on Angel is b/c I work overnights and it's on from 5-7am on TNT. Otherwise I rarely get to see all the episodes of my fav. shows.

5. What one song always pulls at your heart?

Well the one that came to mind first was Amazing Grace and I think that is b/c I have simply been to too many funerals so I cry every time I hear it.

1. What is your favorite Halloween candy?
I know its hated by many but my all time favorite Halloween candy is Candy Corn! :)

2. Do you fold your socks?
Does folding in 1/2 count? That's what I do to all but our 4yr olds socks. My hubby complained long ago that he didn't like the tops of his socks 'stretched' out as he claims happens when you ball them together....whatever, so I stopped doing that years ago to save the fight and energy! lol

3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about?
How much I truly would regret 2 big things in life, not going to my High School Senior Prom and not going to college right out of High School. Many years later those are my two biggest things I truly wished I'd have done and would change if I could go back and do again.

4. What is the most significant difference between you and your significant other?
That's easy! I'm very shy and introverted and he is a complete extrovert! We really do complete each other.

5. What are three words you would use to describe yourself? (And, just for fun...if your significant other is around, ask him/her what 3 words they would use to describe you!!)

I would say shy, caring and a procrastinator. Hubby would say caring, trustworthy and strong...we've done this before ;)

1. What do you listen to while driving?
Radio stations, nothing special. I want to get an ipod player so I can listen to that, but honestly I'm not in my van for very long periods of time so it would almost be more of a hassle! lol

2. What is your least favorite thing about Fall?
Fall is my favorite season, but I am not thrilled with the season following! Here in SD we tend to get rough winters!

3. What does your dream house look like, inside and out?
Outside I want it to look like a big old home from I think the early 1900's. Not that I actually want it FROM the 1900's, but just to have that look to it. I'd love to be out of town, on a small farm. Grand in size, who doesn't want a big house? Well maybe those who are done raising the kids? lol Anyway, big enough to hold all of us comfortably and each have their own rooms would be a dream! A beautiful grand master suite w/master bath with a nice big garden style tub. I'd love a grand staircase and a HUGE kitchen, nice separate dining room with built in hutch. Living room and family room since we are 2 families in one. I want a nice big garage for the hubby and a separate building for my 'dream' photography studio! Oh, my I didn't think I'd come up with much for this one! hahahaa

4. Would you ever own a minivan?
Um yeah, made that move 4yrs ago! :)

5. Do you wash new clothes before wearing them?
Yes and no, I've seen alot of things lately saying how dangerous it can be not to so I've started doing it now. It's hard to say if any of that is true or not but why not be safe right?!

1. Have you ever visited another country?

No, oh wait, yes. I've briefly been to Mexico when we visited my grandfather in AZ. I was maybe around 6 yrs old. We traveled to the border, parked on the USA side walked over and it was a big shopping area, apparently highly discounted knock offs and such lol. That has been my only out of country experience. I'd love to go do Ireland someday though!

2. Where is the strangest place you have ever been?

The Cosmos in the Black Hills, its a Mystery Area where there are all different kinds of kooky things. Check out the link, its easier to understand lol

3. What is your favorite season?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Fall! I love the colors and just the smell in the air. I don't like that it means winter is right around the corner though, and living in SD means we get fully blown crazy snow frigid temps winters. Still LOVE fall though! ;)

4. What one song will always cheer you up?

Cheesy I know but 'Footloose' has always put a smile on my face and a spring in my step! lol

5. What Disney character do you resemble most?

I honestly can't think of a Disney character, I've always been more of a Warner Bros./Looney Tunes fan and in that case it would be Tweety ;)

1. Are you a neat sleeper or a messy sleeper?

 

Now I am a neat sleeper for the most part, I used to be a real messy sleeper but I think you learn to sleep 'in your area' the more you sleep with someone! 

2. Fill in the blank. I wish I was more _____outgoing___________.

 

I am a very shy, introverted person and have always wished that I were more outgoing. 

3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about?

 

How much I would regret not going to college right out of high school. I think that is one of my biggest regret and wish 'i'd known then what i know now' kind of thing. 

4. What was the best thing you ever found at a garage sale/flea market?

 

I've bought a lot of things at garage sales, not so much at flea markets. But to remember one great find is hard. I must not have made that discovery yet! lol

5. If you could have any meal brought to you right now, what would it be?

 

Does ice cream count as a meal? I've had a craving for some for awhile and after being sick last night while here at work I could go for a nice treat! lol
