Happy Thanksgiving!

Stopping in to wish everyone a Blessed Thanksgiving Day! 

I'm working tonight then sleeping in the morning, big dinner around 3pm at home, my mom is making it & we're having friends over to celebrate with us. Then relaxing til we start the shopping extravaganza at Toys R Us at 10pm!!!! :D I'm excited! lol

Happy Mother's Day Weekend

How are you celebrating the Mother's Day Weekend? Me? I get to work all weekend. Yeah it's my weekend to work and I didn't think I would mind but now that it's here I'm kinda regretting not taking Sunday off. Not much I can do about it now so we'll celebrate Monday most likely. Maybe going to lunch tomorrow though, we'll see how much energy I have after my next overnight.

Life has been about the same, nothing much changes in our world. Quinn is getting to be a bit mouthy and doesn't like to listen so we are working on that with him. He is smart though, picks up on things so quickly so I am wanting to get organized and started working on the homeschooling things again. I've got alot of resources and materials to use, so its time to get started! I hope to get some posts up here soon on that.

School is almost done here and from the sounds of it the older boys may be staying with us all or most of the summer. I'm excited about this and a little wary. The oldest Ian has wanted to move in with us for over a year now but his mom has not given her ok on that just yet. The younger of the 2 Jacob will most likely come and go since we enforce rules on them and he doesn't seem to like this. Oh the joys!

I am working on getting an area set up in the house for a photography studio area. I've gotten a backdrop stand, a couple of lights and some backdrops (if they work) and got my new Canon T1i DSLR! I'm so excited! LOVE my new camera! Lots of learning to do still but I'm excited to start shooting! Maybe I'll finally get some 3yr pics of Quinn, before he turns 4! :)

1. Have you ever had a celeb sighting?
Does being held by Roy Rogers when I was about 3 count? lol My Parents we to his museum and he was there and held me, got pics to prove it...someplace! lol

2. What temperature do you keep your house?

between 71-73

3. Do you notice dust at other peoples homes?

Not normally no, unless its really bad!

4. What's the worst job you ever had?

I think I'd have to say WalMart, if you think employees are rude when you're a customer, you should try to work with them!

5. What is your most sentimental possession?

Guess I'd have to say notes and cards from Scott over the past 10yrs. Then my diamond earrings from my father since he is gone now.

Whoa, a little behind!

Ok, I was afraid of this happening, especially when my desktop was fried, I've gotten very far behind on posting pics! Hey, at least I've been good about taking them though right?! lol I think I may have missed 1 day, but for me that's not too bad! ;)

So, I think I've got close to 2wks of pics for my 365 Pic-A-Day project to post to get caught up on, I may just post a few now and then a few more tomorrow and so on.

Have the older boys this weekend, Quinn just loves it when his brothers visit. It's nice when we don't have to constantly play with him too! I love him to pieces, but sometimes I get tired of playing! lol

I have to say that I can not wait for summer to get here! I am so tired of this snow and cold weather this year and being cooped up in the house with the 3yr old! I'm having daily visions of walking to the park, about 4-5blks away, and playing there for a change! My plan is to teach Quinn to ride his trike there, at least most of the way.

Scott and I had a lovely Valentines Day! We spent the night away from home and enjoyed it so much! It was so nice to just hang out again, its been so long since we've done that just the 2 of us! Maybe we can do it again for our anniversary in July?! ;)

Screaming Toddler and SuperBowl Sunday!

Screaming 3yr old, what fun is that?! Is it really all that normal for the 3yr old in the house to be the absolute loudest child or adult for that matter in the house?! Really? Quinn will scream when he doesn't get his way, when he does get his way, when you try to talk calmly to him, lets just put it this way, he screams a lot anymore! So, I'm taking up a new method of trying to teach him to "use your inside voice" to which he replies "I don't want to use my inside voice"....ummm seriously?! lol So, my new attempt to counter this is to gradually speak quieter to him. The idea is that maybe, hopefully he'll actually want to hear what I have to say so he'll be forced to calm and quiet down in order to hear me. Well, that's the hopes anyways!

So it is Superbowl Sunday, the Saints v. the Colts....I'm not a big football person but always get into this even if only a little. This year I'm rooting for the Saints, if only for the fact that I've always wanted to go to New Orleans and the city fascinates me! GO SAINTS!!! :)

We've got some goodies and the older boys, not sure if we'll have them through the game or what but kinda hope so, maybe we could start some sort of new tradition with them? Fun right!? I hope so! :)

Night at a Hotel & Fried Computer!

So after an unexpected power outage in our area, thankfully that lasted only a couple hours, we decided with the help from some friends who were staying in town, to take a night off and go join them at the hotel. We had fun, it was nice to get away, even if it was only to a hotel in the same town! lol Quinn had a blast, LOVED swimming and I'll get some pics posted ASAP. That's another issue I'll get too soon. So, we got the kingsize whirlpool suite for a GREAT deal at Best Western, I've even taken the liberty to go ahead and book it again for Valentine's Day! (wink) We've never done anything that cheesy romantic so with this being out 10th V-day together I figured, why not!? :) So I've got plans of going ahead of time and getting the room all set up romantic like and trying to surprise Scott, we'll see how that plays out! lol

Ok, onto the photo issue, well it's not exactly the camera so no worries there! But apparently my computer was fried during the power outage here friday! Freaking wonderful!!! I'm so pissed, I just got a brand new 22" monitor for christmas that I can't even use now! So, I guess when I'm able to I'll have to take it in to see if that is in fact what the deal is or if its something else and then decide if its worth fixing or upgrading. It's less than 2yrs old and I've honestly had nothing but issues with it so maybe it is time to get a different one. But thank goddess that I have my lovely new laptop which will be seeing much more use now! ;)

I've got pics to update the 365 pic -a-day section and will try to get them posted tomorrow. Going to attempt to enjoy the rest of my weekend off! :)

Brrr!

The past 2 nights have been frigid out! Last night got down to -26 and tonight is expected to reach a record breaking -30! I'm so more than ready for summer! We've had more snow so far this year than we got in the entire year last year, I think we may have broke that record during our Christmas blizzard.

Is my weekend off which means we also have the older 2 boys visiting, nothing better than 3 kids cooped up inside b/c its just too cold to go outside! They got sleds for Christmas but have yet to use them b/c of the temps. Fortunately Sunday is supposed to be back up into the teens! A heat wave for us at this point!

Really nothing much else happening this weekend. I'm thinking of going and finishing up the last 2 episodes of True Blood. Scott got me the series for Christmas (he had more than enough hints to do so). Then probably off to bed. Course its already late, maybe the episodes can wait another day.

A New Year, a New Blog! Happy 2010!

Welcome to The MoonChylde Chronicles!

Today is the first day of a new year and a new decade! I have many things I would love to accomplish in the next few years to come. I have made the decision to combine most of my other blogs to be able to better keep up with all of the stuff I love to learn, post and share. I will be using this blog for the many things we do in our family, from homeschooling our 3yr old son Quinn, to photography, baking, scrapbooking and weight loss. I hope you find our journey an interesting one!

Some of my resolutions for 2010:

First is to get healthy and I hope to do that with the help of sharing my ups and the inevitable downs here with you all! I hope that will help to keep me motivated. I am starting Monday January 4, 2010. My goal is eating better, portion control and more exercise. Lets hope for a slimmer, healthier and more energetic 2011! :)

Second comes organization, not sure how much of that I'll be sharing here but it's something that desperately needs to be done. I've got to weed out Quinn's old toys and clothes that are too small, organize his homeschool stuff, and go through so much old crap to purge as much as possible!

Let's see that will bring us to homeschool. Since Quinn was born Sept. 17th he falls just shy of the cut off to start school so I started doing some basic teaching things with him this past fall and plan to get more involved in it this year. I've got a ton of stuff to organize (see the 2nd resolution) and he really enjoys sitting with us and doing different activities. So since we have an extra year before he even starts preK, I'm starting this year so he'll have an extra year of learning by the time he gets there!

Lastly comes my many hobbies, photography, scrapbooking and baking to name just a few. I did my 2nd round of senior pics this past fall and hope to start doing more fun photo projects, including doing a 365 project, that will start when I get a chance to! lol In the next few days I'm sure! Scrapbooking has been a part of my life for 12yrs now and in the past year or so I've made the transition to digital scrapbooking and I also create and sell kits. My hopes in this area are to get more done in way of our family books and create one for mom of her and dads life together. Baking and decorating cakes and the like has become a fun hobby of mine as well. I'd love to take a beginner class to better learn the tricks of the trade!

One thing I didn't mention is my writing, that has taken a far back seat to so many other projects and hobbies these past few years. So, if I have the time and energy after all the other things, I hope to start work on one of my novels or start a new one. We shall see.
