Take Me Back Tuesday
This week I share a picture of a baby Quinn with my father. Quinn was about 5mo old and my father passed away this past July. Somehow I believe I will treasure this picture even more now.

Night at a Hotel & Fried Computer!
So after an unexpected power outage in our area, thankfully that lasted only a couple hours, we decided with the help from some friends who were staying in town, to take a night off and go join them at the hotel. We had fun, it was nice to get away, even if it was only to a hotel in the same town! lol Quinn had a blast, LOVED swimming and I'll get some pics posted ASAP. That's another issue I'll get too soon. So, we got the kingsize whirlpool suite for a GREAT deal at Best Western, I've even taken the liberty to go ahead and book it again for Valentine's Day! (wink) We've never done anything that cheesy romantic so with this being out 10th V-day together I figured, why not!? :) So I've got plans of going ahead of time and getting the room all set up romantic like and trying to surprise Scott, we'll see how that plays out! lol
Ok, onto the photo issue, well it's not exactly the camera so no worries there! But apparently my computer was fried during the power outage here friday! Freaking wonderful!!! I'm so pissed, I just got a brand new 22" monitor for christmas that I can't even use now! So, I guess when I'm able to I'll have to take it in to see if that is in fact what the deal is or if its something else and then decide if its worth fixing or upgrading. It's less than 2yrs old and I've honestly had nothing but issues with it so maybe it is time to get a different one. But thank goddess that I have my lovely new laptop which will be seeing much more use now! ;)
I've got pics to update the 365 pic -a-day section and will try to get them posted tomorrow. Going to attempt to enjoy the rest of my weekend off! :)

Take Me Back Tuesday
So a friend/co-worker stopped over to get our old TV yesterday and he happened to see Quinn's 6mo pictures and thought he was just the cutest thing! So, I figured I'd share this picture, still one of my very favorite ever taken of Quinn! He was about 6mo old here. Shots were taken at JCPenny's.

Web Site Blessing; BOS Blessing
The source of all creation;
May the Goddess, The Lady of the Moon;
And the God, Horned Hunter of the Sun;
May the Rulers of the Elemental Realms, Earth, Air, Fire and Water;
May the Powers of the Stars above and the Earth below,
Bless this web site, and this time, and I who am with You.
I ask for you to protect these pages,
And that no harm to those who visit here.
So mote it be.
Blessing of the Book of Shadows
by Silver Ravenwolf
Hearken as the witches' word
calls to All, a gulf to ford.
Bridge the vast realities,
An it harm none, do as ye please.
calls to All, a gulf to ford.
Bridge the vast realities,
An it harm none, do as ye please.
Elements protect and guard this book,
From wandering eyes and prying looks.
Fill it with thine ancient power,
In this right and ready hour.
From wandering eyes and prying looks.
Fill it with thine ancient power,
In this right and ready hour.
Powers of North, the East below,
Help me to live, to learn, to grow.
Lend your strength and stability,
To practice the Craft and with love be free.
Help me to live, to learn, to grow.
Lend your strength and stability,
To practice the Craft and with love be free.
Powers of East, the Wind, the Sky,
Watch over these pages with thine eye.
Your wisdom and knowledge, for these I do ask,
That this book be worthy of the Craft and its task.
Watch over these pages with thine eye.
Your wisdom and knowledge, for these I do ask,
That this book be worthy of the Craft and its task.
Powers of South, Fire, and the Hearth,
Help these Shadows to prove their worth.
Infuse them with all your Healing and Passion,
So only good comes from the Work that is fashioned.
Help these Shadows to prove their worth.
Infuse them with all your Healing and Passion,
So only good comes from the Work that is fashioned.
Powers of West, the Water and Sea,
Change and growth are granted by thee.
Bless these pages with all that you know,
That righteous readers may learn and grow.
Change and growth are granted by thee.
Bless these pages with all that you know,
That righteous readers may learn and grow.
And to the unschooled eye that see
Confusing words and sophistry,
Lead them from these sacred pages,
And bless their passage through the ages.
Confusing words and sophistry,
Lead them from these sacred pages,
And bless their passage through the ages.
For free will of all,
And harm of none,
As I have willed it,
It is now done.
And harm of none,
As I have willed it,
It is now done.

365 Pic -A- Day
Been a long weekend at work. Working overnights sometimes has its benefits but others it just gets long and tiresome. I was able to get a bunch of pics edited over the weekend, watch a couple movies.
'P.S I Love You', first time I've seen it, have you seen it? You should its a bit of a tearjearker but totally worth it! It's a great movie! Starring Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler and Kathy Bates, just to name a few!
Then I finished watching Season 1 of the HBO series TrueBlood. Based on the Sookie Stackhouse book series by Charlaine Harris. I'm still up in the air about the series, maybe I've read too many of the books and it annoys me when things get changed for movies/tv series. I feel the same about the Twilight Saga, love the books, am so-so on the movies. lol
On to catching up with my pics from the weekend! I'm so ready for a couple nights off now!

Witches: Who Are We?
This is one of the best ways I've ever come across to describing what being a Witch is and isn't. I want to share this here for those who may not understand, in hopes it helps a bit to open your mind and remove the proverbial box we all live in at times, one section at a time!
Who Are We?
"We are not evil. We don't harm or seduce people. We are not dangerous. We are ordinary people like you. We have families, jobs, hopes, and dreams. We are not a cult. This religion is not a joke. We are not what you think we are from looking at T.V. We are real. We laugh, we cry. We are serious. We have a sense of humor. You don't have to be afraid of us. We don't want to convert you. And please don't try to convert us. Just give us the same right we give you--to live in peace. We are much more similar to you than you think."

Brrr!
The past 2 nights have been frigid out! Last night got down to -26 and tonight is expected to reach a record breaking -30! I'm so more than ready for summer! We've had more snow so far this year than we got in the entire year last year, I think we may have broke that record during our Christmas blizzard.
Is my weekend off which means we also have the older 2 boys visiting, nothing better than 3 kids cooped up inside b/c its just too cold to go outside! They got sleds for Christmas but have yet to use them b/c of the temps. Fortunately Sunday is supposed to be back up into the teens! A heat wave for us at this point!
Really nothing much else happening this weekend. I'm thinking of going and finishing up the last 2 episodes of True Blood. Scott got me the series for Christmas (he had more than enough hints to do so). Then probably off to bed. Course its already late, maybe the episodes can wait another day.
Have a Wonderful Weekend! Stay cozy and warm! :)

365 Pic -A- Day
The boys came today for the weekend, its always an interesting night the first night they are with us. Quinn is always overly excited to see them and play with them, they are getting readjusted to our home and rules and then there is that little matter of Quinn no longer being the only child in the house! He doesn't take that so well just yet!

Here is the very first hybrid project I've done! It's a Take Out Box created by Lauren from Rustic Charm Creations! Too stinking cute!
It was made with regular print paper so its not too sturdy but made with cardstock it would be awesome and a great gift idea for Valentine's Day! :)

Weight Loss Start
My main resolution for this new year is to loose weight and get healthier. Join me here to follow along on my journey!
Today is my start point and from here on out I'm going to make a conscious effort to curb my portions, cut down on snacks, eliminate all the sweets (for awhile to get started!), start exercising (which may be delayed a bit from a recent back injury), and start eating more healthy.
My goal is multi-fold really. Of course the main reason is to loose all the extra weight I carry around on this frame. I may have always been a big girl, but this has gotten ridiculous! Next comes the want of more energy for myself and my son. Then the idea that Quinn is learning my terrible eating habits just appalls me, so I want to show him how to eat in a much healthier way and incorporate exercise into our daily life.

A New Year, a New Blog! Happy 2010!
Welcome to The MoonChylde Chronicles!
Today is the first day of a new year and a new decade! I have many things I would love to accomplish in the next few years to come. I have made the decision to combine most of my other blogs to be able to better keep up with all of the stuff I love to learn, post and share. I will be using this blog for the many things we do in our family, from homeschooling our 3yr old son Quinn, to photography, baking, scrapbooking and weight loss. I hope you find our journey an interesting one!
Some of my resolutions for 2010:
First is to get healthy and I hope to do that with the help of sharing my ups and the inevitable downs here with you all! I hope that will help to keep me motivated. I am starting Monday January 4, 2010. My goal is eating better, portion control and more exercise. Lets hope for a slimmer, healthier and more energetic 2011! :)
Second comes organization, not sure how much of that I'll be sharing here but it's something that desperately needs to be done. I've got to weed out Quinn's old toys and clothes that are too small, organize his homeschool stuff, and go through so much old crap to purge as much as possible!
Let's see that will bring us to homeschool. Since Quinn was born Sept. 17th he falls just shy of the cut off to start school so I started doing some basic teaching things with him this past fall and plan to get more involved in it this year. I've got a ton of stuff to organize (see the 2nd resolution) and he really enjoys sitting with us and doing different activities. So since we have an extra year before he even starts preK, I'm starting this year so he'll have an extra year of learning by the time he gets there!
Lastly comes my many hobbies, photography, scrapbooking and baking to name just a few. I did my 2nd round of senior pics this past fall and hope to start doing more fun photo projects, including doing a 365 project, that will start when I get a chance to! lol In the next few days I'm sure! Scrapbooking has been a part of my life for 12yrs now and in the past year or so I've made the transition to digital scrapbooking and I also create and sell kits. My hopes in this area are to get more done in way of our family books and create one for mom of her and dads life together. Baking and decorating cakes and the like has become a fun hobby of mine as well. I'd love to take a beginner class to better learn the tricks of the trade!
One thing I didn't mention is my writing, that has taken a far back seat to so many other projects and hobbies these past few years. So, if I have the time and energy after all the other things, I hope to start work on one of my novels or start a new one. We shall see.
I hope you join me in my many new journeys and enjoy the ride as we go!
Blessed Be
Holly
